Piracy in Canton Waters.

His Majesty's Consul-General at Canton has tele-

graphed to-day as follows:

*A piratical attack was made on October 15th. near

Walchow upon a British launch belonging to Mr. Fisher.

The approximate losses are estimated at 400 Dollars.

I am awaiting your instructions in the matter."

To-morrow I intend to make personal representa-

tions on the subject to Prince Ch'ing and to Yuan-Shih-

Kai.
